Iconic British fashion designer Stella McCartney launched her eponymous label in 2001, but her fashion career started long before then.  Born in 1971 to famous parents ex-Beatle Paul McCartney and animal rights champion Linda McCartney, the designer spent most of her early life travelling with her parents who at the time were in the band Wings.  Stella had an interest in fashion from an early age, designing her own clothes at just thirteen years old.  An internship at Christian Lacroix, an art foundation at Ravensbourne College and a degree in fashion design at Central Saint Martins made her super-qualified to step fully into the world of fashion.  Her graduate show in 1995 was a roaring success and featured appearances from some of her famous model friends Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell and Yasmin Le Bon.  Following her graduation, McCartney shadowed tailor Edward Sexton at Savile Row to learn more about her craft and equipping her with the skills to go on to design her wearable, sharp, simple tailoring with a feminine edge.  In 1997, Stella McCartney was hired as creative director of Chloe, replacing Karl Lagerfeld.  The Chloe aesthetic was very similar to Stella McCartney’s design style; it was a match made in fashion heaven and Stella had great success at the house during her tenure, before going on to launch her own label in 2001.  Her eponymous debut collection showed at Paris Fashion Week in October of the same year.  Since then, Stella McCartney has gone on to have many successful, highly-sought after collections, launch two perfumes, have a successful ongoing collaboration with Adidas, design for Team GB for two Olympic Games, design clothes for film and have high-street collections with H & M and Target.  Alongside this, she has won numerous awards, designed dresses for royalty (she famously designed Meghan Markle’s reception dress for her marriage to Prince Harry), whilst managing to stay true to her views on animal rights; a staunch vegetarian, you’ll never find fur or leather in any Stella McCartney collection.  Now part of the LVMH group, the future looks bright for Stella McCartney!

Stella McCartney kidswear was first launched in 2010.  Capturing the spirit, energy and aesthetic of the parent collections, Stella McCartney kids is everything that you could wish for from a children’s collection.  Lighthearted and playful, Stella kids features fun graphics, bold slogans and branding, vintage inspired style and exquisite tailoring.  With a nod to the late 60s and her dad’s success as a musician, Stella McCartney kids military jackets often feature in her collections, season after season, alongside many motifs that evoke memories of the Beatles.  For cool activewear and swimwear, beautifully cute babywear and bright fun pieces for every day, choose the Stella McCartney kids collection.
