Designer Childrenswear’s #Whereyoushopmatters Campaign
‘Where You Shop Matters’ is an advertising campaign launched by global payments technology company Visa to promote the importance of shopping local in saving the high-street. Visa want to encourage consumers to shop local this Christmas and to switch the focus from what they are buying, to where they are buying it. Their Christmas advert created by Saatchi & Saatchi, features thirteen real shopkeepers singing along to Queen’s “Somebody To Love”. The Visa campaign invites all independent retailers in the UK to recreate Visa’s Christmas advert and show why ‘Where You Shop Matters’ to them.
Being an independent retailer, Designer Childrenswear decided to take part in the campaign as we love our high street and most importantly, we love our customers for allowing us to thrive on the high street! Every time YOU shop independent YOU help make a difference. YOUR contribution increases jobs in YOUR local area, it keeps YOUR highstreet unique, diverse and individual. We are who we are because of YOU. So this Christmas where you shop really does matter!
Our video features a handful of our amazing team across a number of departments, from the shop floor to the stock room and behind the scenes in the photography and web departments. A very happy business owner and a singing dog are two of the highlights from the campaign, but don’t take our word for it, why not watch it for yourselves? You might even spot some familiar faces! Here is our #whereyoushopmatters campaign entry below:
Many thanks to Roar Motion for helping us put our campaign together and for their amazing filming, editing and production skills. Many thanks also have to go to Sunderland Bid who sponsored our video. It’s support from places like Sunderland Bid that allow independent businesses like ours to survive and thrive during uncertain times.
Allow we didn’t win the campaign, we’re super proud to announce that we made it the final! It was so much fun being part of a really important campaign and helping to promote the importance of our high street! You can watch the winning video here. Well done Bon Tot Kids of Edinburgh!
