Armani has proudly unveiled images of Hollywood’s Quvenzhané Wallis in its latest Armani Junior Campaign. Quvenzhané attracted wide applause for her Oscar nominated debut in the compelling ‘Beasts of the Southern Wild’ and has recently started publicity for the much anticipated ‘Annie’ remake alongside Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx. Photographed in tailored black satin, with a longing puppy nestled by her face, the instantly iconic shot captures Quvenzhané as the new face of this ever growing and evolving fashion empire.
On commenting on the young stars qualities, Armani noted “Quvenzhané is so talented despite her young age. She is a child who has the natural ability to play many different roles. Her kindness, curiosity and openness toward others really struck me, as they are all traits that I admire. It is for this very reason that I wanted her to be the face of Armani Junior.” Quvenzhané originally met Armani when he supplied her navy blue, delicately beaded silk gown for the 2013 Oscars, which she had customized, much to the fashion onlookers delight, with her tiara perched Poochie, soft toy hand bag.
On her working relationship with Mr Armani Quvenzhane was quick to note, “I was honoured to wear his custom gown to the Oscars. It made me feel like a princess.” And on the designers most recent collection she observed, “When I saw Mr. Armani’s Privé show in New York, the dresses were so pretty… I had too many favourites. Afterwards when I met him, I realised Mr. Armani is such a nice man. It’s fun to wear Armani Junior since I really like the clothes. It’s young. It’s cool.”
With a major new blockbuster about to hit our screens and a giant fashion campaign under her belt this ten year old from Louisiana looks certain to be carving quite an illustrious career path. The young star joked ‘”my friends are going to want to borrow all my clothes now, for sure” …. and we are sure they will.
