February Fashion Month 2019 Has Landed At Designer Childrenswear

It’s February which means it’s Fashion Month time!  At Designer Childrenswear we’re really excited to see the upcoming collections, so much so that we’ve decided to put together a handy guide for who to look out for, highlighting the brands we stock in store and online.

New York Fashion Week 7th February

New York Fashion Week is the first week of the fashion calendar.  Kicking off this year on February 7th at 10am with Ralph Lauren, the schedule features amazing shows from top fashion houses such as Boss (13th, 2pm), Marc Jacobs (13th, 6pm) and Zadig + Voltaire (11th, 2pm).  Designer Childrenswear favourite and head of Moschino, creative director Jeremy Scott shows his own self-named collection as part of New York Fashion week too (8th, 8pm).  Always a show to remember, Scott always lets his creativity run wild on the runway-from space poodles to nineties polaroids, it’s definitely one to watch out for!

London Fashion Week 15th February

London Fashion Week brings the fashion world to the UK, with lots going on in and around the city.  Vivienne Westwood and Burberry are two of the biggest shows in the fashion calendar and both take place on Sunday February 17th this year, with Vivienne Westwood showing their AW’19/20 collection at 2pm, followed by Burberry at 5pm.  After a successful collaboration between the two houses this year, it will be interesting to see what they have to offer individually.  Vivienne Westwood shows are always heavily influenced by current affairs as she uses the catwalk as a political sounding board.  Whereas at Burberry, newly appointed creative director Ricardo Tisci presents his second collection which is sure to celebrate the beautiful Britishness and heritage of the house but with a true Tisci interpretation.

Milan Fashion Week 19th February

Think of Milan and you’ll be swept away to a city full of culture, set to the backdrop of beautiful Milan Cathedral.  Many of the wonderful designers we house at Designer Childrenswear are Italian and show their collections as part of Milan Fashion Week.  Check out the latest from Gucci (19th, 3pm) and Moncler (20th, 8pm) two of our best selling brands.  A Gucci show is always full of fun and colour, thanks to creative director Alessandro Michele’s love of floral prints and with lots of mini-me styles in their collection, it’ll be a great insight for what new styles to expect from Gucci at Designer Childrenswear later in the year.  Armani has two separate shows at Milan Fashion Week, for both it’s Giorgio Armani (23rd, 8pm) and Emporio Armani (21st, 1030am) collections, usually offering classic styles in neutral palettes.  For more flamboyant styles, be sure to look out for the latest from Moschino (8pm, 21st), Versace (7pm, 22nd), MSGM (22nd, 3pm) and Roberto Cavalli (1230pm, 23rd), all brands that offer bold brights and outrageous prints.  Finally, don’t forget to check out fabulous Fendi (21st, 1230pm) another Designer Childrenswear favourite.

Paris Fashion Week 25th February

Fashion month is always rounded off in Paris, with beautiful shows from top French brands such a Chanel and Dior.  Karl Lagerfeld is creative director of both Chanel and Fendi, as well as his namesake brand and his shows are always really beautiful and memorable.  Although we don’t stock Chanel, we love Karl Lagerfeld here at Designer Childrenswear and we’re always excited to see his amazing shows at the Grand Palais (the Chanel show takes place 5/3/19 at 1030am).  If you love all things Kenzo, expect to see the tiger and a kaleidoscope of colours from the brand (27th 8pm).  Chloé is always a great choice for elegance and quintessential French style (28th, 10am).  Another one to watch is beautiful Balmain, with creative director Olivier Rousteing’s body-confident looks built for and promoted by his #Balmainarmy (1/3/19, 1130am).  We stock lots of French brands at Designer Childrenswear such as Lanvin (27th, 930am), Givenchy (3/3/19, 830pm), and Lacoste (5/3/19, 430pm).  Stella McCartney also shows in Paris, so for the freshest Stella looks for AW’19/20, be sure to check it out (4/3/19, 10am).
